Ok this week is week one of the Partnership To Success course. I will take you through what we have learned so far. Some of the tutorials I had already done as I do have a little bit of background knowledge and already had some things in place before I started the Partnership To Success programme.

We were first taught how to research for a domain name that reflected who we are so ideally for me the best domain name is robertchenery.com fortunately I do already own this domain name so I didn’t need to undertake this task.

The next step was to register our domain name and webhosting with D9 hosting .We then had to set up an email account and test it to make sure everything was working ok. I again already had hosting and already had registered my domain name.

We then had to check out Clickbank and register a free account with them this will enable us to earn affiliate commissions by promoting other peoples products.

I was also taught how to download Filezilla this is FTP software FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and this software is used to transfer files from your own PC up onto a web server so your files can be viewed on the internet in the form of a website.

The next stage was installing a blog using wordpress I did already have a blog set up but I didn’t really use it much so for the purpose of this course I am going to start afresh again and also give it a new look with a new header image. This time I will continue to use my blog and make posts to it as regularly as I can.

The final step has been to order some header graphics for my blog or you can make you own if you are familiar how to do this with graphics editing software such as Photoshop.

Although I do have Photoshop and know how to use it I thought I would save myself some time by outsourcing this to Steve at GFX-1 as recommended by John Thornhill

I have used Steve in the past and he produces some excellent quality graphics he also offers other packages such as mini websites etc. If you need any graphics done yourself I can highly recommend him and he offers a fast and efficient service click here to view his website.

This takes us to the end of the first weeks course I have already learned a lot from this course and hope that you have also learned something too.

I will try and keep you updated on my progress as I continue on my journey.

Regards

Welcome to my blog and my first official post on this website. At the moment I am in the early stages of building my own online business and creating an online presence. Over the coming weeks you will see a gradual transformation here as I intend to make this a place that you can visit that’s full of useful hints, tips and articles that you can use as a reference guide to help you build your own online business.

This year I have decided to get myself a mentor and to fully concentrate and focus on what I am being taught and actually take action and not to get side tracked like I am sure so many of us have done in the past.

The mentor I have chosen is John Thornhill he is based over here in the UK and I have decided to sign up as one of his students on his Partnership to Success program. I decided to go with John as I have known him and followed him for a while. He is one of the good guys that I have found to be very honest, open and trustworthy. He also respects the people that he has on his mailing lists and gives out some great content.

As I take this journey through the Partnership to Success program I will be posting details of what I have been up to and how I am getting on so you too can follow my progress. If there are any tools or websites that I find to be particularly helpful to me on my journey I will let you know about them here.

So I welcome you to follow my journey and look forward to making many new great friends & partnerships on the way.

To our success

Robert Chenery
